Do you think this really is the end? I just can't really believe it. Somehow they must be able to save it or salvage the parts to put in another car?

That sucks, and sometimes that's life. It's what differentiates Youtube videos vs Hollywood entertainment in that you can just up and get detailed by something completely random and unexpected. In a story that'd be considered bad storytelling, but it's real life. I've never been able to fully wash those two things.
